On Mother's Day and in our final chapter of 'Mothers in Cashmere' we are thrilled to introduce you to the forever effervescent Mimi Gilmour Buckley, her mama Emerald, and her three beautiful babies Olympia, Octavia and Augustus.

This dynamic family brought so much fun to set, and we adored capturing these special moments in Elle & Riley cashmere with them. A gorgeous bond between grandmother, mother and child, Mimi and Emerald share a "desire to see our children thrive in this world and know that it's our role to equip them with the skills to do so. We both champion the message that we are all put on this planet to contribute more than we take."

Reminiscing, Mimi says "cashmere is the epitome of luxury snuggles, and there's truly nothing more comforting than a mother's embrace" - a sentiment we share as lovers of such a timeless and naturally strong fibre - just like the love of a mother.

As we wrap our 'Mothers in Cashmere' campaign, propelled by a deeply supportive and nurturing mother-daughter relationship between our co-founders Elle & Yo, we wish you a fulfilling Mother's Day celebrating the mothers, grandmothers and mother figures in your life. To all the beautiful women, men and children who took part in our campaign, our sincerest thank you. We loved every minute of it. And to our wonderful community, thank you for reading along. Happy Mother's Day xx

What mothering qualities do you both share, and what mothering qualities make you completely different?

We share a desire to see our children thrive in this world and know that it's our role to equip them with the skills to do so. We both champion the message that we are all put on this planet to contribute more than we take. Because we are different in nature, we tend to share time with the children in various ways. Emerald loves reading (much to her disappointment neither Mimi or Sophie are readers), and Mimi does arty, crafty activities that are well beyond Emerald's patience!

Mimi - what motherly acts of kindness and care for you as a child do you emulate from Emerald?

Emerald taught us to cook, host, and entertain from a young age. She instilled in Sophie and I the responsibility and privilege of caring for and celebrating others and the importance of nurturing relationships through this. She was also incredibly loving and physically affectionate with us, which we nurtured into our homes.

Emerald - you are a grandmother to 5 gorgeous grandchildren!  What is your favourite way to make your grandchildren feel comforted and cared for?

I wouldn't say I'm your everyday 'Nana' type. I've never been particularly good at playing with small children because, as one of my favourite comedians pointed out, “Small children are very boring because you already know everything they want to tell you!” I love to smooch them - it fills my heart.

How does the feeling of wearing cashmere evoke memories of moments shared with your mother?

My mother has had a big red cashmere cardigan for 40 years that she bought in Harrods(!). She wore it a lot, and I remember being snuggled up in it. Cashmere is the epitome of luxury snuggles, and there's truly nothing more comforting than a mother's embrace.

How will you be celebrating Mother’s Day this year?

We will share a meal around a table with our big, beautiful family, eating our hearts out! Food has always been, and will always be, our love language.
